OUR STORY
To tell our story our Founder and Strategic Advisor, Lou Anne Brossman, was interviewed by Professor Tom Temin, Anchor and Columnist at Federal News Radio, part of the Federal News Network.
Why did you start Government Marketing University?
Government Marketing University has been a vision of mine for a long time. There is an unfulfilled need in our market today for a platform for knowledge sharing, career development and networking opportunities for professionals in government marketing. And that is why I started Government Marketing University – to fill this need. I started my government marketing career over 30 years ago and have gained a lot of experience and knowledge that I (and others) want to share to help government marketers, sales and business development professionals grow both their careers while also providing services to the U.S. Public Sector.
Who does Government Marketing University serve?
Anyone who markets or sells to the U.S. Public Sector will find value at Government Marketing University. We offer training, research, certifications, mentoring, awards and community resources to name a few. It’s all in one place, enabling our students to learn, collaborate and accelerate their marketing success.
You call GMarkU a collaborative, community-based platform. What does that mean?
Our tagline is “For the People … By the People” and you will see an impressive and growing group of very seasoned government experts from our community who have chosen to be part of our faculty. This group includes government marketers, thought leaders, government executives (both current and former), media, sales leaders and more — all contributing their time and knowledge to deliver a unique and content-rich platform. The Government vendor partner community has welcomed us with open arms. We practice what we preach about being a collaborative, community rich platform and strive to engage and partner with as many people and companies as we can who serve the U.S. Public Sector.
GMarkU has something called the Ambassador program. What is that?
I am so excited about our Ambassadors – these are former federal and state and local government executives who served in the U.S. Government in leadership roles. Who best to get actual hands-on government insight from than from those that we strive to reach in our government marketing campaigns.
