Is Marketing to the Government really so different?
We hear this all the time “Public Sector is different”. While there are many distinct differences in how we reach this unique audience (which we cover at GAIN 2021), there are also ways we can explore commercial tactics that can be successfully customized to align with the needs of our marketplace.
Traditional marketing has stood the test of time as it relates to lead generation and brand awareness. Over the course of the last year we have seen more commercial tactics bridge into our government marketing world. This has become more obvious with the evolution of content marketing, social media, ABM, CRM and the newest marketing initiatives with consumer-based marketing via streaming media.
Government Marketing University recognizes importance in understanding the best strategies and tactics that marketers can have at their finger tips. We are excited to have Russ Klein, CEO, American Marketing Association as one of our Keynote Speakers at GAIN 2021. Russ has an impressive career working for some of the leading brands including Dr Pepper/7UP, 7-Eleven, Arby’s and Burger King Restaurants. Russ also oversaw strategic marketing for various consumer brands while holding leadership positions for world leading advertising agencies.
Russ will share his vast knowledge of corporate marketing so that we can all be reminded (and learn) that while marketing and selling to the government is different, we still need to be traditional marketers who lean into new marketing strategies and tactics that are available to all marketers. We need to take risks, think outside the box and get creative with our approaches to government marketing.
I’m reminded of a quote I’ve always liked “In order to be an expert in this ever-changing world of marketing, it is essential to make sure everyone is learning all the time”. We strive to make this easy for you by bringing you all the many offerings from Government Marketing University. Make sure you attend GAIN 2021 so you can continue your learning path for government marketing success!
